About Us

Our syllabus has been designed to cater for all ages and provides a pathway from 4-year-old beginner white belt right through to our Senior black belt level. We understand that the strength, co-ordination and mental awareness differs through the ages and so does the level of expectation on our 4-year-old versus our 17-year-old students.

Grasshoppers (aged 4-8)

Our age specific syllabus has been developed for your child to learn balance, co-ordination, discipline, and Karate. We’ve teamed these elements with just the right amount of fun to keep their attention and interest to provide a pathway for their martial arts development. This is not a baby-sitting class, if you are simply looking for an after-school program this might not be for you.

Cranes (aged 8-12)

We understand that as children get a little older and more developed so does their ability to absorb more information. These classes start to increase the amount of Karate performed, leveraging the work already developed through the Grasshopper stage of balance and co-ordination. This is high school preparation time, unfortunately, we live in a world of bullying, our aim is to help develop sensible strategies to deal with these problems. These strategies start with building self-confidence in your child, using that to their advantage and taking away (hopefully), the need to ever use the physical side of the art they are learning.

Tigers (13+)

This is essentially the senior syllabus, but with an appropriate age split between classes. Your 13-year-old child is not expected to fight adults – likewise, adults are not expected to partner children when practicing.

Just like our syllabus, the classes are also specific to age and separated accordingly, as follows:
